Hello everyone!
Today I was surprised by the noise of weed wackers blaring along park avenue...looking outside my shop I noticed city crews...Blue collars, red trucks...cutting the weeds around the trees!
I could not believe it! TheBlog and Photo Gallery seem to have accomplished some movement....as a few other things were being taken care of that I had pointed out in my blog and gallery....I think that my conversation with Marcel Tremblay and hisdisappointment with the borough administration may have helped...I was happy! So were my neighbours...surprised and happy...I spoke too soon it seems!
Later in the dayI find out that several merchants and property owners had recieved tickets dated yesterday from the city of montreal, fining them for not haveing cut the weeds in front of their shops or properties!
Apparently, many were fined!! How ridiculous! Is this how they are planning to finance the clean-up? Fining everybody because they either were not aware of the stupid bylaw, or for thinking that the city should actually have their blue collars doing the tasks they were hired to do and paid to do!!
It is not our job to take care of city property, as was a judges opinion last month, and another's very soon! As well as the judge that I will soon be meeting in order to contest my ticket!! Or is this a case of poor city planning, a usual occurence in this city....Did the higher ups who order the clean-up not know that the borough inspectors were out overzealously ticketing the neighbourhood? Or were they working together to continue park avenue's collective punishment?
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
I urge anyone who recieved a ticket for violating this stupid bylaw to getin touch with me so fight it. We need to kick some ass again! I have pictures of the Blue collars hard at work
